although的用法

although作连词，意思是虽然;尽管;即使;不过;然而。although引导的从句放在主句前后均可，有时还可放在句中。although引导的从句不能与but、however连用，但可与yet、still连用。

1.表示对比，“虽然”。

eg: Although he is not smart, he works harder than his classmates.

虽然他不聪明，但他比他的同学都要用功。

2. 表示惊奇或出乎意料，“虽然”。

eg: He can do most of the housework, although he is only five years old.

虽然他才五岁，他会做大部分家务活。

3. 表示让步，“尽管，即使”。

eg: My father is still working outside, although it is very hot.

尽管天气很热，我的爸爸还在外面劳作。

4.表示转折，“不过;然而”。

eg: I didn’t agree with him, although I didn’t speak out my opinion at once.
